To Those Who Overcome

To Those Who Overcome is a unique study through the book of Revelation that focuses more on how to apply this incredible book than on End Times predictions. What the Apostle John wrote is as relevant today as it was two thousand years ago because we, too, live in a culture opposed to the gospel message. Therefore, Christians would be wise to read and understand Revelation, stand firm in their faith, and prepare for the spiritual battle ahead.

In this easy-to-understand commentary on Revelation, Chaplain Schwartz walks through each chapter and explains various interpretations and perspectives regarding John’s letter, thus challenging the reader to dig deeper into God’s Word and apply its truths. The simple message of Revelation is clear: God Wins! Yet persecution and oppression of God’s people are increasing worldwide, so believers must learn to persevere and honor the Lord… regardless of the cost. Are you prepared for that? Will you compromise when things get tough, or will you overcome?

Rev 12:11

A Message To Believers in Difficult Times

“They overcame him [Satan] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death” (Revelation 12:11) Since the early days of the church, believers in Jesus Christ have been oppressed, persecuted, and killed because of their faith. This grim fact has not changed in two thousand years and is highlighted in the important verse above. Revelation 12:11 identifies a central theme in the book of Revelation and forms the heart of this Bible study. Based on his original work, To Those Who Overcome: How and Why the Book of Revelation Applies Today (2024), Dr. Darren Schwartz continues to inspire believers to dig deeper into the book of Revelation to understand and apply the important message Jesus gave to the early churches. Rev. 12:11 — A Message to Believers in Difficult Times is a journey through the last book of the Bible that can be completed in one’s personal devotional time or with others in a classroom or small-group Bible study format. The road ahead is perilous and believers must stand firm in their faith or risk not standing at all. Therefore, these lessons will help the reader better understand God’s plan for the days ahead, as well as challenge believers to live out the implications of Rev. 12:11… regardless of the cost.

Reading this work took awhile longer than expected as I spent time meditating and adjusting my own thinking on the subject. Great read! I believe many would benefit from this presentation and mostly its final recommendation to live for Jesus today instead of worrying so much about trying to figure things out against the backdrop of current events.

Dr Schwartz writes simply and from his heart- taking us on a thorough journey through Revelations. Given the fact he serves as a chaplain in the United States Army National Guard- he has been on many life changing journeys. Take courage in knowing - God wins!!!

I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable "To Those Who Overcome" was to read. Most works on Revelation is not what you would call a page turner. The author was very engaging and I walked away with a deeper understanding of God's providence.
